SQL Server Management Studio 17.9 Released

Microsoft recently announced the release of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 17.9. The new release support of almost all the additions and enhancements from 2008 to 2017 versions of SQL Server.

Microsoft recently announced the release of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 17.9. SSMS is an integrated environment for managing any SOL infrastructure. The new release support of almost all the additions and enhancements from 2008 to 2017 versions of SQL Server.

The new version has a number of updates and new features including ShowPlan improvements, Azure SQL support for vCore SKUs, Bug fixes and more. ShowPlan now shows a new row mode memory grant. MemoryGrantInfo now has IsMemoryGrantFeedbackAdjusted and LastRequestedMemory in the query plan XML element. Additionally, vCore SKUs would be getting added support Azure DB creation.

SSMs also has many bug fixes. Developers can expect to see many issues fixed like the problem in Replication Monitor that had issues starting. There will be a fixed help page for Flat File Wizard and Intellisense collection will now correctly work with AAD and MFA. Help on Help will now be honouring the online/offline mode. Fixes in Activity Monitor, Object Explorer, Import/Export Data-Tier Application, etc has also been foretold along with a lot more. Read the full list of bug fixes here.
