TypeScript 2.8 Released

Recently, Microsoft has released TypeScript 2.8. The new version brings us lots of improvements, a few bugfixes, and other updates. To use the latest version of TypeScript, you need to have your IDE updated.
 
For Visual Studio 2015, you can downloadit from here and for Visual Studio 2017, you can download it from here.
 
If you want to install TypeScript on your machine, then you can use npm command. Just open the command prompt and type the following command.  
  1. npm install -g typescript  
After installing TypeScript onto your machine, you can always check its version by using:
  1. tsc -v  
There are plenty of changes found in the newest version of TypeScript, i.e., TypeScript 2.8. Some of them are as follows.
  • Conditional types
  • Distributed conditional types
  • Improved control over mapped type modifiers
  • Improved keyof with intersection types
  • Batter handling for namespace patterns
  • Locally scoped JSX namespaces
  • Pre-file JSX factories
The new version also has a few breaking changes.
  • Unused typed parameters are checked under --noUnusedParameters
  • Now, HTMLObjectElement does not have alt attribute
