Metro Style app renamed as Windows Store App

By Mahesh Chand Aug 17, 2012
In Visual Studio 2012, Metro Style app templates are replaced with Windows Store App.

Rumor has it that Metro Style is being called Modern UI but yesterday's launch of Visual Studio 2012 tells a different story.

As you can see from the Visual Studio 2012 templates, the Metro Style is replaced with Windows Store templates.

Even Blend for Visual Studio 2012 has templates of Windows Store.

So this kind of makes sense.

Microsoft is calling Office app as Office Store and Windows Phone app as Windows Phone Store.
