Winners Selected in Mozilla Ignite Challenge

The National Science Foundation and Mozilla partnered in June to create a $500,000 challenge calling for ideas to make use of ultra-fast, next-generation networks. Proposals had to address applications in education, healthcare, public safety, clean energy, transportation, workforce development, or advanced manufacturing. TechCrunch reported today on the selection of 8 winners in phase one of the challenge. The next phase will still be open to new proposals from developers as the first round winners develop prototypes.
