How to Install DHCP Service in Windows Server?

Introduction

In this article, I’m going to show how to install Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) as an easy method. DHCP is a network management protocol that automatically assigns IP addresses to devices on a network. DHCP uses a client-server architecture to configure network devices to communicate on an IP network.

Step 1. On your server manager dashboard, click “add roles and features”.

Step 2. Click next (this is a welcome wizard for "add roles and features").

Step 3. Select role-based installation, then click next.

Step 4. In this step, you can see your server’s name with IP address. After that, click next.

Step 5. Click the DHCP server option.

Step 6. Click “add features”.

Step 7. Click next.

Step 8. Click next.

Step 9. Click next.

Step 10. Select the “restart the destination server” option after clicking “yes” then click install.

Step 11. Click “complete DCHP configuration”.

 

Step 12. Click next.

Description

Step 13. Click the commit button.

After completing you can see the “Summary” of the DHCP installing setup.
