No, multiple catch blocks cannot be executed for a single exception in C#. Only one catch block gets executed—the first one that matches the type of the exception thrown. If you throw an exception inside a catch block , it will immediately exit the current catch block , and control will not continue to any other sibling catch blocks. Instead, the exception will propagate: To an outer try-catch , if present (like in nested blocks). Or terminate the program , if unhandled.

Yes we can define multiple catches based on the type of excetion but only on get invoked at a time

When some exception is thrown, the runtime will look for the first catch block that matches the exception type. It will run only the catch block it finds that matches the exception. Once handled, the remaining catch blocks are skipped.
