From this thread on ASP.NET forums,

Tools -> Extensions and Updates... and select Updates. Install the updates related to SQL Server. Then you should be able to work in SQL Server environment and perform and execute SQL commands.

Sidra please once Refresh table. On refreshing the tables you will be able to see your table.

Maybe, because you do not have the SQL Server installed, or perhaps you are not opening the file in Server Explorer.
