A view is a collection of data from many tables which can be consumed by a program without worrying about what table to use and types of joins to be used to get the same data. Also, views provide security to the database objects by giving only execute permissions on the views and no permissions to read or write the data objects. Also, if tables are changed, still your program can work on the same view even though internally the queries are changed in the view.
