The Data Center & Artificial Intelligence Group (DCAI) is pivotal in Intel’s evolution from a PC-centric company to a leader in cloud computing and smart, connected devices. DCAI provides essential products and technologies—spanning software, processors, storage, I/O, and networking solutions—that power data centers worldwide, supporting AI, 5G, and high-performance computing applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and Develop Bare Metal Firmware. Create optimized firmware for ARC-based processors to ensure efficient operation of Intel's AI accelerators and GPUs.
- Develop and Maintain BootROM and Boot Loaders. Implement and maintain critical components to facilitate system boot-up processes.
- RTOS-based Device Driver Development. Design and optimize device drivers for real-time operating systems, ensuring seamless integration with Intel's hardware.
- Feature Delivery for Cloud Service Providers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features that meet the evolving needs of cloud service providers.
- Complex Problem Solving. Tackle intricate technical challenges related to embedded software and firmware development.
Qualifications
- Education. BTech/MTech in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience. 2-6 years in system software design and development on Linux-based operating systems.
- Technical Expertise. Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems, with a focus on low-level programming and operating systems.
- Embedded Systems. Extensive knowledge of embedded architecture, external API interfaces, and system-level debugging.
- Device Architecture and Protocols. Familiarity with interfaces such as SPI, I3C, PCIe, CXL, and protocols like SMBUS/PMBUS and MCTP/PLDM.
- Tools and Platforms. Experience with pre-silicon emulation, simulation, FPGA platforms, and debugging tools like Lauterbach and protocol analyzers.
- Secure Firmware Development. Background in developing secure firmware and contributing to open-source projects like Buildroot.
- Analytical Skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset.
- Communication. Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for stakeholder management and global collaboration.
