As part of the Azure Networking team, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and maintaining the network infrastructure that supports Azure, Bing, Open AI, and other critical Microsoft cloud services. This role offers the opportunity to work on a massive scale, managing network architectures and ensuring high availability and performance of global data center networks.
Responsibilities
- Lead network quality assurance processes, including code reviews, to mitigate risks and improve network performance.
- Take responsibility for critical aspects of network implementation, such as physical connections, protocols, and design qualifications.
- Monitoring and Failure Analysis.
- Utilize physical network data to conduct precise failure analysis and proactively enhance monitoring strategies to improve network availability.
- Incident Management and Resolution:
- Swiftly diagnose and resolve network issues with minimal customer impact, performing thorough post-incident analysis as part of on-call duties.
- Drive the development of automated solutions to optimize network operations and incident management workflows.
- Contribute to cutting-edge automation initiatives to streamline network deployments and expand infrastructure efficiently.
- Identify operational gaps and leverage technical finesse to implement innovative automation strategies for network management.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate feedback and enhance Azure Software-Defined Networking (SDN) tooling.
- Work closely with internal and external vendor engineers to troubleshoot network health issues during validation and field operations, ensuring timely resolution.
- Participate in a field technical support/on-call rotation to promptly resolve issues affecting production networks.

Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation; or a Bachelor's/Master's degree in relevant fields with 2+ years of experience.
Preferred
- Hands-on experience in networking, scripting, and software development.
- Familiarity with network device operating systems such as Sonic, Arista, Cisco, or Juniper.
- Cisco CCNA (or equivalent) certification and proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or C#.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals and protocols (MPLS, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, Anycast routing).
- Experience managing and troubleshooting large-scale networks.
