Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server administration and a solid understanding of database management in a production environment. This role involves managing and maintaining SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security, and providing support for database-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server (2008 R2, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) environments.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
  • Manage SQL Server High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options, including AlwaysOn, Clustering, and Mirroring.
  • Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Utilize database monitoring tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, Performance Monitor, SQL Sentry) to identify and resolve performance issues.
  • Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Utilize backup and recovery tools to support data protection and restoration efforts.
  • Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation of database management tasks.
  • Provide support for database-related issues and collaborate with other teams to resolve them.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance database performance and security.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience as a SQL DBA in a production environment.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2008 R2, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) administration.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, including writing and optimizing complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Experience with SQL Server High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options.
  • Familiarity with database monitoring and performance tuning tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, Performance Monitor, SQL Sentry).
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.

Additional Knowledge

  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB, including setup, administration, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
