As a Developer 1 at Epsilon, you will implement best practices in the coding and development of email campaigns for our clients. You will deliver long-term solutions for email production efficiency and accuracy, provide support to fellow development team members, and create advanced email campaigns. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to drive enterprise-scale websites and web-based applications.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Convert PSD/Figma/XD designs to HTML, adhering to email standards.
- Create complex email templates with mobile-responsive functionality.
- Upload email templates into Adobe Campaign Classic or Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC).
- Implement long-term solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy, including coding tools, additions to the EPT library, and process changes.
- Act as a mentor for junior developers.
- Drive the development team to adopt new and better technologies.
- Create best-practices standards and documentation.
- Assist the creative team in pushing the boundaries of design possibilities.
- Ensure consistent rendering across browsers, ESPs, and devices.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience writing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience developing or modifying email templates and existing campaigns.
- Strong experience with image and HTML coding optimization for email.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience using testing tools such as Litmus.
- Strong understanding of adaptive and responsive coding techniques within the email space.
- A strong sense of visual design (while you may not be an expert with Photoshop or Illustrator, you have an eye for aesthetics).
- Ability to write complex functions/macros in AMPScript (SFMC) and Freemarker (Harmony).
- Advanced knowledge of third-party email service provider systems (e.g., Adobe Campaign, SFMC, Harmony, Cheetahmail, Responsys).
- Knowledge of email platform/client limitations and workarounds.
- Proficiency in media queries and mobile-specific coding.
It’s a Plus To Have
- Strive to use web standards to build solutions using semantic markup and CSS.
- Experience with JavaScript libraries and frameworks like jQuery, AngularJS, and Ember.
- A successful track record of delivering solutions within realistic budget and schedule requirements.
- Knowledge of server-side technologies like Python, Java, .NET, or PHP.
- Ability to draft both functional and technical specifications documents as needed.
