As a Data Engineer and BI Dashboard Developer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the business intelligence landscape by designing, developing, and maintaining automated reports and interactive dashboards. You'll work closely with cross-functional business teams to deliver impactful data solutions that meet the needs of the organization.
In this hands-on role, your expertise will help drive insights and decisions, using cutting-edge BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, DAX, Power Query, and more. You’ll be expected to transform complex data into clear, actionable visualizations, ensuring that our business teams have the information they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand Business Requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and develop functional specifications for reporting applications.
- Design & Development. Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, DAX, Power Query, and other BI tools.
- Data Modeling. Design optimized data models that translate raw data into meaningful insights, aligned with business needs.
- Advanced Querying. Write optimized SQL queries (basic to advanced level) to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources.
- BI Integration. Integrate diverse data sources to generate powerful, real-time data insights and visualizations.
- Dashboard Maintenance. Ensure the continued maintenance and enhancement of existing BI dashboards to meet evolving business needs.
- Independent Contribution. Work with minimal technical support, taking ownership of projects from concept to delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven hands-on experience with BI dashboard development using Power BI, DAX, Tableau, Power Query, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of Relational Databases and experience in data transformation for BI purposes.
- Proficient in SQL and the ability to query large datasets efficiently.
- Excellent understanding of data modeling, administration, and visualization techniques.
- Ability to derive actionable insights from complex data sets.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with business teams.
Preferred Skills (Bonus)
- Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) frameworks and processes.
- Experience with Big Data technologies and ecosystems, particularly for handling large data volumes and transforming data for insights.
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and associated BI tools, including BigQuery and Looker.
- Hands-on experience with Python, Pyspark, and ETL processes.
