Primary Responsibility
The Insurance Operations Associate at EXL will undergo comprehensive training in insurance fundamentals to effectively process cases and ensure the delivery of desired outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
- Process insurance cases received across various queues with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Initiate communication with external parties to clarify information gaps or seek necessary details.
- Follow up diligently with external parties to obtain required information or paperwork within defined timelines.
- Collaborate with Account Managers (AMs) to report performance metrics, address concerns, and seek feedback and support.
- Engage with Managers to resolve issues that remain unresolved by AMs, ensuring timely resolution.
- Work closely with team members to clarify process-related queries, provide assistance, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Participate in training sessions conducted by Process Trainers to enhance skills and knowledge as required.
Performance Parameters
- Productivity. Measure of cases processed efficiently within established standards.
- Accuracy. Precision in processing cases and maintaining data integrity.
- Turn-around-time (TAT). Timely completion of tasks and responses to external queries.
- Attendance. Consistent adherence to work schedules and availability during assigned hours.
- Schedule Adherence. Compliance with operational schedules and meeting performance expectations.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of insurance operations through structured training and continuous learning.
- Execute tasks with attention to detail, adhering to standard operating procedures and guidelines.
- Foster effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth workflow and resolution of issues.
- Uphold EXL’s standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct in all interactions.
- Contribute actively to team goals by achieving individual performance targets and supporting colleagues as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Basic knowledge of insurance concepts and terminology is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency.
- Proficiency in using computer applications such as MS Office or similar software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Previous experience in insurance operations or customer service is advantageous but not required.
