Job Description


AT&T Technology Services group is seeking candidates that can deliver extraordinary impact and influence solution engineering in supportof AT&T transformation and realization initiatives. The Technology Services group drives the integration roadmaps of supported Business Unit Technology teams, provides technical guidance and reusable patterns for connectivity design, refactoring/redesigning applications to include event driven integration techniques, and provides tools that enable hybrid multi-cloud transaction processing
across applications.

The architect will provide architecture and engineering expertise to evolve AT&T integration patterns to target event driven architecture within a hybrid, multi-cloud environment. Refactor, redesign applications to leverage Integration architectures and solution patterns. Apply thought leadership and provide advice on multiple technologies and shape the long-term direction of AT&T Strategy for managing data in motion.

Responsible for both delivering on complex, enterprise-level initiatives that are a part of the company's overall Integration Strategy as well as establishing the product architecture and technology roadmap for those same enterprise-level initiatives. Drives execution of the plan. The candidate drives specification and standardization of platforms, technologies, design approaches, methodologies, and tooling across organization. Works closely with the Solution Architects and System Engineers to ensure that individual program and product strategies align with business and technical objectives. Responsible for delivering secure, robust, reusable, repeatable patterns to enable application teams to efficiently integrate their applications with other company
applications.


Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Perform joint assessments with Business Unit Application Owners, Business Unit Technical SMEs and Vendor Integration
  • Solution Architects/Engineers to understand current state of application deployment stack and map it to target state deployment stack on AT&T target infrastructure model.
  • Develop and document architecture patterns and best practices to address data protection and security needs.
  • Provide and document architecturally consistent, pre-approved, scalable, reusable solutions to application teams to accelerate Integration migrations.
  • Produce documentation and training for architecture patterns and best practices in the form of podcasts, white papers,design artifacts, presentations and other formats.
  • Provide architecture oversight and technical consultation for key integration initiatives, across AT&T, based on joint assessment of existing application technology and deployment model.
  • Create proof-of-concept solutions using integration technologies and demonstrate capabilities to application teams and get feedback from stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the reuse of code, components, and proven patterns.
  • Influence common modeling, design, and coding practices.\
  • Synchronize System and data security and quality, scalability, performance, and other non- functional requirements (NFRs)
  • Lead and assist in the design, delivery, and implementation of integration patterns, tooling, and platforms; this includes building and leading a matrixed team of resources to execute on roadmap deliverables and the review and acceptance of the team’s work.
  • Identify product or architecture delivery-based dependencies and negotiate for date alignment.
  • Articulate Initiative/Feature value statements associated with deliverables and communicate in writing and verbally to enhance client engagement.
  • Proactively search for adoption use cases for the Initiative/Features and architectural enablers. Engage with clients to discuss how the Integration Features enhance their business capabilities.

 

Required Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in software/systems architecture, solution architecture, DevOps engineer, system administrator or similar technical role
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience working with data management, security, stability, availability, and integrity.
  • Demonstrated experience in data integration, modeling, metadata definition, lineage, ETL, and data in motion.
  • Deep understanding of AWS or Azure cloud platforms with a minimum of four years of demonstrable applied experience. Certifications in Azure or AWS.
  • Broad experience using data technologies and designs; data migration, replication, modeling and machine learning.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and good listening skills
  • Ability to work with both technical and business-oriented teams.
  • Applied experience with:- Container-based platforms, including: Kubernetes, Docker, Container Instances, HELM charts, and related technologies.
  • Integration tools such as: NiFi, Kafka, Mulesoft.
  • Gateway tools such as: Kong.
  • Logging tools such as: Elastic.
  • Experience with SAFe Agile, Agile Release Trains or strong aptitude to work in agile environment.
