As a Linux Systems Specialist at CSC, you'll administer, optimize, and maintain Linux systems to guarantee reliable performance and security. Your expertise in Linux systems and ITIL practices will enable you to deliver customized solutions that align with our business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer server hardware, Linux/Unix Operating Systems, RedHat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP), back-office services, and critical business applications.
- Provide Tier 3 level support and engineering for enterprise technology solutions.
- Develop technical documentation for system configurations, processes, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
Technical Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Eight-plus years of proven experience in Linux system administration, ITIL practices, and delivering consistent Linux environments.
- Experience with containerization products such as Docker, Kubernetes, and RedHat OpenShift.
- Proficiency in configuration management systems like Puppet, Ansible, or Salt.
- Hands-on experience with VMware ESX or similar virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with HCI appliances (Nutanix, EMC VSPEX, etc.).
- Strong scripting skills in bash, Perl, Python, awk, sed, etc.
- Experience with Oracle WebLogic, Apache, and Tomcat web servers.
- Proficiency in at least one shell scripting language (Bourne shell, sed, awk, Perl, Python).
- Understanding of LDAP and SSO technologies.
- Strong focus on automation, customer service, and satisfaction.
- Strategic thinking ability with proactive problem-solving skills.
