Job Description

As an Engineering Manager in the Content Abuse AI team at LinkedIn, you will lead a team of Applied Researchers and Machine Learning Engineers. Your mission will be to develop and own algorithms, models, and ranking systems that ensure a safe, respectful, and professional platform for our users. This role requires a balance of hands-on technical leadership and strategic management, aimed at fostering innovation and driving impactful results.

Responsibilities

  1. Technical Leadership. Actively participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads, contributing to the architecture and implementation of machine learning solutions.
  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration. Partner with application engineering, product, and other teams to design and execute machine learning solutions, aligning with broader product and engineering strategies.
  3. Roadmap Development. Create and manage roadmaps for machine learning projects, driving execution and ensuring timely delivery of solutions.
  4. Talent Development. Attract top-tier talent, provide technical guidance, and mentor team members to support their career development and professional growth.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Management Experience. 2+ years of experience in a management role.
  2. Educational Background. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
  3. Industry Experience. 6+ years of experience in machine learning, optimization algorithms, and/or deep learning.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Advanced Degree. MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  2. Scalability. Experience with web-scale traffic and data.
  3. Specialized Knowledge. Expertise in natural language processing, computer vision, content moderation, and/or anti-abuse.
  4. Statistical Modeling. Proven experience with statistical modeling deployed at scale.
  5. Skills. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, a sense of ownership, and strategic thinking.
