We are seeking a skilled Media Engineer to join our team on a contractual basis. As a Media Engineer, you will play a crucial role in implementing, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure for our ITVX Streaming Video Backend and Streaming components. Your expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, Golang, and Python will be pivotal in ensuring the seamless delivery of video content to our users.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, deploy, and maintain infrastructure as code for ITVX Streaming Video Backend and Streaming components.
- Monitor, log, and proactively address performance issues to ensure uninterrupted video delivery.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to promptly resolve video-related issues and incidents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance ITV's web platform using technologies such as React, Node.js, Fastly, and Contentful.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable and maintainable solutions, prioritizing performance and user experience.
- Work closely with Design teams to implement and maintain design systems, ensuring consistency and quality across the platform.
- Utilize technical SEO best practices to optimize ITV's web presence, including building schema markup and implementing strategies to improve search engine rankings.
- Mentor and up-level junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the engineering team.
Requirements
- 4-6+ years of experience in Python and Go.
- Previous working experience in media, streaming, or telecommunications.
- Experience with Kubernetes for automated deployments.
- Experience with Terraform.
- Experience with Docker for containerization.
- Experience with AWS cloud provider.
