Are you an experienced Oracle Database Administrator looking for an exciting new challenge? Join Ericsson and play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our critical database infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining Oracle databases, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and security.

As an Oracle DBA, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business-critical applications, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement database upgrades and patches. You will also have the opportunity to drive automation, improve efficiency, and contribute to innovative database solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

Database Administration

  • Managing Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and/or MariaDB databases in production environments.
  • Handling Container Databases (CDBs) and Pluggable Databases (PDBs) to optimize resource utilization and streamline database management.
  • Setting up high availability configurations using Oracle Data Guard, PostgreSQL replication, MySQL replication, and MariaDB Galera clusters.
  • Administering Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), including alarm integration for proactive monitoring.

Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting

  • Conducting detailed performance analysis and fine-tuning SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Analyzing AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) and ADDM (Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor) reports to detect and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Using Linux tools (iotop, vmstat, nmap, OpenSSL, grep, ping, find, df, ssh, dnf) for system monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Utilizing database tools such as Oracle SQL Developer, Oracle Data Modeler, pgAdmin, TOAD, PHPMyAdmin, and MySQL Workbench for enhanced administration.

Patching, Security & Backup Management

  • Implementing backup and recovery strategies using RMAN (Recovery Manager) and industry-standard tools to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery preparedness.
  • Performing pre-patch validation using opatch and datapatch, followed by testing patches in a non-production environment before deploying to production.
  • Applying Oracle quarterly patches and critical security updates to maintain compliance and database security.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Managing middleware technologies like Oracle GoldenGate, both Oracle-to-Oracle and Oracle-to-Big Data replication.
  • Supporting NoSQL databases (MongoDB) as an added advantage.
  • Assisting in cloud platform management (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) when required.

What You Bring to the Role

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) or equivalent experience in IT.
  • 2-3 years of experience in database administration, preferably in customer service delivery organizations.

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB database administration.
  • Solid understanding of Linux systems and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience in managing database performance, security, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is preferred.

Work Environment & Availability

  • Willingness to work in a 24x7 operational environment with rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, to support mission-critical infrastructure.
