We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team and take ownership of the management, performance, and security of our Oracle databases. Key Responsibilities
- Database Auditing and Logging. Implement and manage comprehensive database auditing and logging mechanisms to ensure that all operations within the database are properly recorded, monitored, and compliant with organizational security and compliance standards. This will help in identifying any suspicious activities or unauthorized access attempts.
- Data Encryption. Utilize encryption techniques and methods to safeguard sensitive data. This involves both data-at-rest and data-in-transit encryption, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data at all times.
- Security Tool Integration. Seamlessly integrate Oracle databases with advanced security tools, including SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) and logging systems, to enhance monitoring, threat detection, and response times for any database-related vulnerabilities.
- Database Commissioning and Decommissioning. Oversee the commissioning and decommissioning of databases, ensuring that each lifecycle stage is handled smoothly while adhering to the organization's standards and policies. This includes managing database migrations, upgrades, and decommissioning processes.
- Performance Optimization. Continuously monitor, tune, and optimize database performance to ensure high availability, scalability, and efficiency. Address any issues proactively and collaborate with teams to resolve complex database performance challenges.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams. Work closely with developers, system administrators, and security teams to resolve database-related issues and contribute to troubleshooting. Share your expertise to improve database-related workflows and support ongoing projects.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience. At least 7 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration, with a proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle databases in production environments.
- Technical Expertise. Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, design, and administration, including database security, auditing, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Database Auditing, Logging, and Encryption. In-depth experience with database auditing, logging, and encryption practices to ensure data security, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
- Security Tool Familiarity. Familiarity with security SIEM tools and logging tools, and the ability to integrate them effectively with Oracle databases for enhanced security monitoring and management.
- Problem-Solving Skills. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex database-related issues efficiently.
- Communication Skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and work collaboratively with teams across the organization.
- Oracle Certification (Preferred). Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification is highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.
- Educational Qualifications. A relevant degree such as BSc (Computers), MSc (Computers), BCA, MCA, BE/BTech (Computers), or M.Tech (Computers) is required.
