Job Description

The Product Manager for EV Battery Swapping/Charging Stations will be responsible for driving the end-to-end product lifecycle. This includes everything from market analysis, product development, and customer requirements gathering, to product launch and continuous improvement. The role demands a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and technical expertise to develop user-centric, scalable, and commercially viable solutions for battery swapping and charging infrastructure.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, service, and sales, to ensure the successful development and delivery of battery swapping/charging products. The goal is to meet market demands while enhancing customer experiences and driving the commercial success of TVS’s EV ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that outlines key milestones, timelines, and deliverables for the battery swapping/charging station solutions.
  • Lead market research, customer interviews, and surveys to identify design requirements. Collaborate with technical teams to translate customer insights into product specifications (SRS).
  • Create and maintain a detailed customer journey map that identifies all customer touchpoints—both physical and digital—and optimize the customer experience at each stage.
  • Be the voice of the customer, conducting extensive user studies to identify current gaps in the system and benchmark against industry solutions. Ensure product-market fit through effective product discovery.
  • Define clear product requirements and create essential documents (Business Requirement Document - BRD, Product Requirement Document - PRD) to communicate the vision and specifications to cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market plans in collaboration with the marketing team, ensuring effective product positioning, promotional campaigns, and launch readiness.
  • Identify potential risks in product development and collaborate with the project management and technical teams to mitigate these risks, ensuring successful product delivery.
  • Work closely with engineering, service, marketing, sales, and other relevant teams to oversee product development, ensure seamless coordination, and maintain progress across all stages.
  • Coordinate with service teams to plan and execute service workflows and ensure the commercial readiness of products with sales and marketing.
  • Lead the entire product lifecycle from customer discovery to MVP, ensuring continuous product improvement based on evolving customer needs and market trends.
  • Provide regular product status updates to senior management and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, partners, and vendors.

Skills Required

  1. Documentation Skills. Ability to create detailed business and technical documents (SRS, BRD, PRD) to articulate product vision, requirements, and milestones.
  2. Problem-Solving & Discovery. Proven ability to uncover underlying business needs and translate them into actionable software requirements. 
  3. Market Research & Analytical Skills. Strong market research capabilities, with a keen understanding of the EV battery swapping and charging ecosystem. Ability to analyze data and insights to drive product decisions.
  4. Project Management & Roadmap Development. Proficiency in project management, including roadmap development, timeline management, and delivery milestones. Experience in using project management tools.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration. Excellent collaboration skills to work across departments (engineering, service, marketing, and sales) and align all stakeholders towards common product goals.
  6. Risk Management. Ability to identify potential risks in product development and take proactive steps to mitigate them.
  7. Communication & Reporting. Strong communication and reporting skills to engage with senior management and external partners, providing regular product updates and resolving issues.
  8. Experience in EV Industry. Direct experience working in the EV battery swapping/charging industry is a must. Deep understanding of technical and business aspects of EV infrastructure.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Automobile, Industrial, Production) or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or MBA in a relevant field.
  • Relevant certifications in Product Management, Project Management, or other related areas are highly desirable.

Experience

  • 5-8 years of experience in product management, preferably in the EV battery swapping/charging industry.
  • Experience managing the full product lifecycle, from concept to market introduction and post-launch support.
  • Strong background in cross-functional team management and customer engagement.
