Role and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test Power Private Cloud software.
• Translate architectural requirements into high-level and low-level designs.
• Actively contribute to open source communities and possess knowledge of open source tools.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cloud domain, including OpenStack, virtualization, Linux OS internals, networking, storage, security, and infrastructure as a service.
• Collaborate with open source communities, contributing to development and testing.
• Have a strong understanding of full-stack cloud development.

Responsibilities

Join IBM India Systems Development Lab as a Software Engineer/Developer, playing an integral role in product development and testing of the PowerVC Platform on Power. This involves leveraging the OpenStack cloud computing platform using Python. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to engage with various open-source communities and contribute to both front-end and back-end development.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 4+ years of experience in the IT industry.
• Extensive experience in cloud platform development or similar roles.
• Proficiency in Python programming and Unix/Linux environments.
• Familiarity with Ansible is preferred.
• Strong understanding of OpenStack concepts and experience in open source communities.
• Proven track record in architecting, designing, and developing complex solutions.
• Ability to work in agile, scrum, and DevOps environments.
• Knowledge of cloud service and deployment models.
• Comfortable collaborating with distributed teams and open source communities.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and contribute to open source initiatives.
• Commercial experience with technologies like OpenStack, virtualization, and public cloud services is a plus.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Hands-on experience with OpenStack-based clouds and virtualization concepts.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with automation using Ansible.
