Ruby on Rails Developer

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Ruby-on-Rails Developer to join our team on a remote, project-based role. As a Senior Ruby-on-Rails Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a range of web applications using Ruby-on-Rails. Your expertise will be crucial in building new applications, enhancing existing ones, and optimizing performance to meet client needs and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Development. Lead the design and development of web applications using Ruby-on-Rails (RoR). Create new applications, enhance existing ones, and incorporate new features to improve functionality.
2. Containerization. Utilize Docker for containerization to ensure consistent and scalable deployments.
3. Testing. Conduct unit testing, validate application performance, and communicate testing results effectively.
4. Architecture. Solution architecture using Ruby-on-Rails to develop robust and scalable applications.
5. Integration. Integrate applications with other systems and databases to ensure seamless data flow and functionality.
6. User Support. Support user testing, respond to feedback, implement changes, and assist in transitioning projects to other teams or clients as needed.
7. API Utilization. Work with Draftable API to enhance application functionalities.

Must-Haves

1. Experience. 5-7 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using Ruby-on-Rails.
2. Domain Knowledge. Strong domain knowledge in web application development.
3. Containerization. Proven experience with Docker for containerization.
4. Unit Testing. Experience in unit testing and effectively communicating testing results.
5. Certificates. Experience applying certificates in Ruby-on-Rails.
6. Architecture. Experience in solutioning architecture using Ruby-on-Rails.
7. Draftable API. Familiarity with Draftable API.

Plusses

1. Payer Knowledge. Knowledge of payer systems and processes.
2. UI Experience. Experience with user interface (UI) design and development.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Work independently on a set 40 hours a month, with the flexibility to manage your own time.
• Participate in prescheduled meetings in the EST timezone.
• Handle additional project-based tasks adding 5-10 hours a week.
• Design, develop, and maintain web applications, ensuring optimal performance and integration with other systems.
• Conduct and communicate results of testing procedures, and support user feedback and project transitions.
