At Emerson, we're driven by a bold aspiration to improve the world around us by driving innovation and technology that enables a healthier, smarter, safer, and more sustainable future. As we continue our digital transformation journey, we are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our global team of experts who are solving some of the most complex challenges in the industry.

If you’re passionate about uncovering patterns from massive data sets, applying state-of-the-art machine learning models, and communicating impactful insights, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze large and complex datasets using advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to extract actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Design, build, and implement predictive models and AI-driven solutions that directly address critical business problems and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to translate business challenges into technical requirements and analytical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations to present findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Cleanse, structure, and preprocess data to ensure high-quality input for modeling and analysis tasks.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and detailed reports on model performance, insights, and KPIs to internal stakeholders and customer teams.
  • Contribute actively to our Agile development process, including participating in Scrum ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by continuously learning and applying emerging trends in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Who You Are

  • Thrive in fast-changing, complex environments, and confidently make decisions with incomplete information.
  • Communicate effectively across different levels of the organization and tailor messages based on audience needs.
  • Consistently meet or exceed expectations and go the extra mile to deliver timely solutions.
  • Are deeply analytical, breaking down multi-layered problems before jumping to conclusions.
  • Read group dynamics with ease and choose the right approach to engage, influence, and drive results.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field is required, a Master's degree or equivalent experience is highly preferred.
  • 10 to 12 years of hands-on industry experience in data science, analytics, or a related domain.
  • A proven track record of designing, deploying, and optimizing machine learning models for real-world applications.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling, classical ML algorithms (e.g., k-NN, SVM, Decision Forests, Naive Bayes), and deep learning models such as CNNs and RNNs.
  • Extensive experience with NLP, NLG, and Large Language Models (e.g., GPT, BERT, LaMDA, LLaMA, BLOOM, PaLM, DALL-E).
  • Proficiency in Python or R, along with libraries like pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
  • Working knowledge of Go and experience with machine learning frameworks and APIs.
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra), including vector databases for embedding-based search.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, and Seaborn.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an engineering-focused environment is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Certifications in AI/ML or Data Science from reputed institutions.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native data science workflows.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a high-paced setting with shifting priorities.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities in model performance and infrastructure.

What We Offer

  • A collaborative and inclusive culture where all voices are heard and respected.
  • Continuous career growth and learning through mentorship, internal mobility, and world-class development programs.
  • A commitment to employee wellbeing with comprehensive benefits, flexible time-off, and programs supporting physical, emotional, and financial health.
  • Purposeful work that impacts industries and communities, driven by innovation and digital transformation.
