Job Description

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in helping our customers overcome complex challenges by delivering actionable insights and machine learning solutions that drive business value. You will work with vast and intricate datasets, applying advanced analytical methods and developing deployable models that address root causes.

Your ability to communicate complex information in a simplified manner will be key as you interact with stakeholders at various levels, presenting your findings and recommendations effectively. As a technology advisor for advanced analytics, you will stay at the forefront of emerging trends and technologies, ensuring that Siemens remains a leader in innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Customer Insight. Understand customer challenges and provide actionable insights with a clear business benefit.
  2. Data Analysis. Work with large, complex data sets and apply advanced analytical methods as needed.
  3. Machine Learning Solutions. Develop and deploy machine learning models that address real-world challenges.
  4. Stakeholder Interaction. Present findings effectively to stakeholders using visual displays of complex information.
  5. Technology Advisory. Act as the partner of choice for technology advisory in advanced analytics.
  6. Trend Scouting. Proactively stay updated on state-of-the-art technologies through market and trend scouting.

About You

You are a data-driven problem solver with a passion for applying advanced analytics to real-world business challenges. You have a strong background in data science and are comfortable working with large, complex datasets.

Your Qualifications

  1. Education. Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Operations Research, Bioinformatics, Economics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) or a related field.
  2. Experience. At least five years of relevant experience with data science, optimization, and statistical models.
  3. Technical Skills
    1. Proficient in programming languages like SQL, Python, and R.
    2. Experienced with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and Keras.
    3. Familiar with cloud technologies like AWS Sagemaker and Lambda.
    4. Know-how in ETL processes for Big Data in enterprise environments (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  4. Analytical Skills. Strong understanding of the mathematics and optimization techniques behind machine learning algorithms.
  5. Innovation. Stay updated on new technologies in AI and digitalization and apply them creatively in business contexts.
  6. Communication. Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of translating business requirements into solution designs.
