Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team in Sydney or Melbourne. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems. Your role will involve working with advanced analytics, deep learning techniques, and ML Ops best practices to deliver actionable insights and ensure model performance and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Model Development. Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms to address complex business challenges.
  2. Data Analysis. Utilize Python for data analysis, model development, and implementation. Apply deep learning techniques for advanced predictive analytics and insights.
  3. ML Ops. Implement ML Ops best practices to ensure scalable, reliable, and efficient deployment of machine learning models.
  4. Collaboration. Work with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  5. Model Monitoring. Monitor and maintain deployed models to ensure ongoing performance and accuracy.
  6. Exploratory Analysis. Conduct exploratory data analysis and visualize findings to effectively communicate results.
  7. Continuous Improvement. Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning, deep learning, and ML Ops to continuously enhance processes and models.
  8. Documentation. Document methodologies, processes, and model performance for transparency and reproducibility.

Qualifications

  1. Educational Background. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  2. Experience. Proven experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or a similar role.
  3. Technical Skills. Strong proficiency in Python and its libraries (e.g., NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch). Experience with ML Ops tools and frameworks (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, Docker, Kubernetes).
  4. Deep Learning. Solid understanding of deep learning architectures and frameworks.
  5. Cloud Platforms. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their machine learning services.
  6. Problem-Solving. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex datasets.
  7. Communication. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  8. Version Control. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Domain Experience. Experience in financial services, telecommunications, or retail domains.
  2. Big Data. Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  3. NLP and Computer Vision. Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision applications.
  4. Visualization. Knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., R, Tableau, Power BI).
