We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team at S&P Global Market Intelligence. This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work on strategic software products using emerging tools and technologies. What You’ll Do
- Take complete ownership of design and implementation for complex business functionalities through the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Participate in requirement analysis, task estimation, development, and deployment.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve pre and post-go-live maintenance and support issues.
- Provide technical assistance to support teams, QA, and business analysts.
- Collaborate with remote teams in a geographically distributed development model.
- Evaluate, recommend, and lead the adoption of new technologies to enhance productivity and scalability.
- Share technical and business knowledge with team members and other departments.
- Act as an agent of continuous improvement, driving better development practices and operational efficiency.
Who We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (mandatory).
- 7+ years of experience in software development with strong expertise in Java/J2EE.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Java-based application servers such as WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, JBoss, or Tomcat.
- Experience with messaging systems like JMS, MQ, or Tibco.
- Intermediate proficiency in Oracle (PL/SQL).
- Strong knowledge of Spring Framework (Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring JDBC, ORM tools like Hibernate).
- Expertise in monitoring tools such as DataDog, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
- Understanding of Java Memory Management and Garbage Collection (GC) tuning.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Batch and its performance tuning.
- Strong debugging skills with thread dump analysis and code profiling tools.
- Familiarity with J2EE design patterns (GoF, GRASP, Visitor, Observer, etc.).
Tooling & Testing
- Unit testing expertise using JUnit, TestNG, Cactus, or Mock Objects.
- Experience with version control systems such as GIT.
- Knowledge of IDE best practices and ability to mentor others on development tools.
- Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools.
Development Methodologies & Processes
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (SCRUM, XP).
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration.
