We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer to join our team for a project with a top-tier client in the Insurance industry. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with deep technical expertise in mainframe systems to contribute to impactful projects while working in a dynamic, agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development. Lead the design and development of mainframe applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Mainframe Batch Support. Provide expert-level support for mainframe batch processes, ensuring seamless execution.
- On-Call & Weekend Support. Be available for on-call support during off-hours and weekends to troubleshoot and resolve critical issues.
- Release Support. Oversee and manage application releases, ensuring smooth rollouts with minimal disruption.
- Incident & Outage Management. Lead efforts in incident resolution and outage management, ensuring quick recovery and minimal business impact.
- Reporting, Defect & Enhancement Development. Develop and enhance reporting features, manage defects, and work on system improvements.
- Kanban & Standup Meetings. Drive daily standup and coordination meetings using Kanban methodologies, working closely with stakeholders.
- Problem Solving & Analytical Skills. Utilize strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills to address complex challenges and design innovative solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 6-8 years of experience in Mainframe development and support.
- Proficient in JCL, COBOL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.
- Strong experience with mainframe tools and utilities like File Aid, Changeman, Syncsort, and Xpeditor.
- Hands-on experience in software design, development methodologies, and implementation practices.
- COBOL or CICS upgrade experience.
Technical Expertise
- Expertise in using Control-M, IOF, MQ, and mainframe utilities like IDCAMS.
- Familiarity with testing and debugging tools (Xpeditor) and job management (Control-M).
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Strong multitasking abilities and capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
