As a Senior Software Engineer at LinkedIn, you will be instrumental in architecting, designing, and developing scalable and high-performance applications. This role involves working on complex problems, including product design, usability, API development, and ensuring 24x7 reliability of systems. You will join a world-class software engineering team, contributing to impactful projects and innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development. Design and develop distributed, scalable, and high-volume performing applications that operate continuously.
- Architectural Design. Make architectural trade-offs, apply synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, and ensure the reliability of systems.
- Code Quality. Write high-quality code that is thoroughly tested and integrated into continuous delivery pipelines. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Engineering Productivity. Identify opportunities to improve engineering practices and productivity, and effectively evangelize these improvements within the team.
Basic Qualifications
- Education. BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience. Minimum of 4 years of programming experience in Java and/or C++.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience. 8+ years of relevant work experience in software engineering.
- Technical Expertise. Expert knowledge in data structures, algorithms, and software design. Experience with object-oriented design, coding, and testing patterns.
- Programming Skills. Proven coding skills in high-level languages such as Java or C++, with a willingness to learn other languages as needed.
- Web Applications. Experience in building web applications and services using IDEs and general development practices.
