As a Software Engineer III in Front-End at Google, you will play a critical role in designing and building innovative, high-performance, scalable systems that serve millions of users. You’ll join a group focused on incubating early-stage efforts that support Google’s overarching mission. Labs is a highly creative and fast-paced team that explores and develops new technologies to drive innovation within Google’s core products.
Responsibilities
- Develop Front-End Systems. Write, test, and deploy high-quality product or system development code, ensuring scalability and performance for applications.
- Collaborate in Design Reviews. Participate in or lead design reviews, working alongside peers and stakeholders to choose the best technologies and approaches for the projects.
- Code Review & Mentorship. Review code developed by other engineers and provide constructive feedback to ensure best practices in coding standards, accuracy, efficiency, and maintainability.
- Documentation and Education. Contribute to existing documentation and educational content, ensuring that it stays updated based on product or program changes and user feedback.
- Issue Resolution. Debug and resolve system issues by analyzing root causes, identifying impacts on hardware, network, or service operations, and applying solutions to improve system health.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education & Experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Software Development. At least 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- Data Structures & Algorithms. Proficiency in data structures or algorithms, with at least 2 years of experience in either an academic or industry setting.
- Front-End Frameworks & Full-Stack Development. 2 years of experience working with front-end frameworks, full-stack development, or API development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree. Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Large Scale Systems & Performance Analysis. 2 years of experience with performance optimization, data analysis, large-scale systems, visualization tools, or debugging.
- Accessible Technologies. Experience in developing accessible technologies that cater to a diverse range of users.
- Code & System Health Expertise. Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues related to code health and system performance, with experience in software test engineering.

Compensation. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000 - $200,000, with additional compensation including a bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Google’s salary ranges are determined based on role, level, and location. Your specific compensation will be discussed with you by your recruiter during the hiring process.
