As a Software Engineering Manager in the Compute Infrastructure organization, you will lead a talented team of engineers in re-architecting our Compute Infrastructure stack. This role is crucial for developing scalable and reliable systems that handle a massive volume of requests. You will collaborate with engineering partners across the company to enhance Compute fleet interactions, mentor team members, and drive technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership. Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of your team's infrastructure and systems, ensuring high reliability and scalability.
- Roadmap Development. Partner with technical leaders and senior management to craft and execute a long-term technology roadmap for LinkedIn Compute Infrastructure.
- Mentorship. Use your technical expertise to mentor engineers, resolve complex issues, and foster career development within your team.
- Team Management. Manage the performance and growth of your engineering team, providing leadership and guidance.
- Collaboration. Work with peers across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack, enhancing collaboration and efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8+ years of relevant engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a technical management role.
- 6+ years of hands-on programming and design experience in Go, Java, C++, or Python.
- Full-stack experience, including API development with GraphQL, building single-page applications, and proficiency in JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Proven experience in coaching and mentoring team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of management experience with a track record of successfully delivering high-quality projects and growing small to medium-sized teams.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Experience designing and developing highly available and scalable web applications.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale projects with cross-team dependencies.
- Experience in creating and executing technical strategies and roadmaps.
- Track record of partnering with recruiting teams to build exceptional engineering teams.
- Experience with fleet management platforms for large-scale server and application interactions.
