Job Description:
Responsible for deep technical pre-sales support of Information Security products within the Symantec portfolio – primarily the Symantec Identity Management Security Solution. Key activities include proof-of-value engagements, best practices and architectural guidance discussions, product demonstrations, product health checks, RFP/I responses and customer presentations.
- Work closely with Broadcom sales teams to help identify and remove technical barriers needed to achieve Symantec sales outcomes
- Demonstrate, differentiate and position Symantec technical product features, functions and best practices via customer interactions, demos, proof of concept (POC) and product health checks to influence customer renewal decisions
- Drive customer success by partnering with a number of internal and external organizations including technical support teams, product management teams, sales teams, partners and more
- Train Broadcom or partner technical teams on specific value propositions, competitive differentiation and best practices to help them position Symantec solutions
- Deep technical expertise across one or more of the Symantec Identity Management Security Solutions and platforms:
- Layer7 API Gateway
- Symantec VIP
- Symantec SiteMinder
- Symantec Directory
- Symantec PAM
- Kubernetes based deployments
- Ability to design, deploy, configure and tune these solutions to meet large customer (Fortune 1000) use cases – primarily in a “proof of value” pre-sales context
- Previous Systems Engineering or professional services consulting experience with enterprise products preferred
- Ability to co-manage large, complex technical projects involving a combination of best practices, enterprise software and hardware solutions across a number of disparate departments.
- Aptitude to effectively identify and track deliverables necessary to drive joint initiatives and build relationships with key customer and internal personnel
- Strong ability to effectively link technology solutions to business needs
- Ability to relate to a wide range of technical staff and executives in customer environments
- A "solutions mindset" that demonstrates technical competence but is open to multiple points of view for how Symantec products fit into an overall security program.
- Technical knowledge of various cloud architectures and use cases (e.g., AWS, Azure & GCP)
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving
- Strong presentation and writing skills
- Demonstrable experience in systems administration, solutions delivery or related field
- Ability to present a professional appearance and demeanor
- Programming/scripting experience is a required at the API level
Additional technical skills and certifications
- Industry security certifications (CISSP, CCSK, etc.) and Symantec certifications (SEP, EDR & SEPM) are a plus
- Bachelor's + 8+ years of related experience required
