  • Work with large and complex datasets, ensuring high-quality data is available for analysis and reporting.
  • Monitor ETL job performance and troubleshoot failures or data quality issues.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Support the data analytics team by providing clean, structured, and query-optimized datasets for downstream consumption.
  • Assist in building dashboards and reports to provide insights on life insurance products, policy data, claims history, underwriting performance, and customer trends.
  • Develop ad-hoc queries and data extracts as needed by business users and leadership.

Performance Optimization

  • Continuously monitor the performance of SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and implement tuning strategies to enhance query execution speed.
  • Proactively identify areas for database design improvement.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for SQL and life insurance-related data models.
  • Work closely with business analysts, software developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that database solutions align with business requirements.
  • Provide support during project planning, implementation, and post-production phases.

Testing & Debugging

  • Perform unit testing and participate in integrated system testing for all SQL components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs or issues with existing SQL scripts and reports.
  • Ensure that solutions are robust, secure, and production-ready.

Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for queries, procedures, database schemas, and data flows.
  • Create and update system manuals, data dictionaries, and support documentation to assist future development and maintenance efforts.

Qualifications & Skills
