As a Data Engineer at Visa, you'll play a crucial role in building and maintaining Visa's Pricing Platform and Revenue Data Pipelines. You'll work on a cutting-edge pricing engine that processes global card transactions and manage data critical to Visa’s revenue generation. This position involves developing scalable data processing pipelines using Big Data technologies and implementing best practices in continuous integration and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lifecycle Management. Engage in the full development lifecycle from design to production support, ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Data Processing Pipelines. Build and maintain scalable data processing pipelines using Big Data technologies and SOA architecture.
- Continuous Integration & Automation. Implement and manage CI/CD practices and automation frameworks to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Enhancements & Refinements. Identify and drive improvements in standards, processes, and application functionalities.
- Compliance & Security. Collaborate with architectural and security teams to ensure services meet Visa’s security standards.
- Cross-Group Collaboration. Participate in feature demonstrations and collaborate with internal customers and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Must Have
- Software Development Experience. 3 years of hands-on experience in software development, including data, server-side, and open-source software.
- Programming Skills. Proficiency in Java or Python (3 years of experience).
- Big Data Technologies. 1 year of development experience with Hive and Spark.
- SQL Expertise. Strong experience in writing complex SQL queries for development and data analysis (3 years).
- Data Integration Tools. Experience with at least one of the following tools: Nifi, Airflow, Oozie, Sqoop, Kafka.
- Unix & Shell Scripting. 3 years of experience in Unix and shell scripting.
Nice to Have
- CI/CD Tools. Familiarity with JIRA and Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment.
