Visa Inc. seeks a dynamic Lead Automation Engineer to join our newly formed automation engineering team at our US Ashburn VA office. As a Staff Automation Engineer, you will spearhead critical automation and tool development initiatives for Visa's 24/7/365 global operations, supporting key products and services, network operations, and ITSM processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Visa's automation journey by spearheading process automation initiatives, fostering an automation-first mindset across the organization.
- Provide technical expertise to enhance Global Operations' efficiency through process automation and tool development, reducing time, effort, costs, and manual errors.
- Develop automation solutions for routine tasks, change procedures, monitoring/alerting, incident mitigation, reporting, and more across Visa's global infrastructure and service portfolio.
- Collaborate with operations teams to understand procedures and execute strategic automation plans to boost efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead software development efforts to continuously enhance automation capabilities and drive adoption of AIOps and next-generation tooling.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and implement innovative automation solutions aligned with Visa's technology strategy.
- Train and support operations staff in the use and implementation of automation systems and tools.
- Maintain source code repositories for all automation code.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience, or equivalent experience (5+ years).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience, or Advanced Degree with 2+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation, with experience in languages like Python or Golang, and automation software such as Ansible, UIPath, etc.
- Strong technical automation engineering or commercial software development experience.
- Deep knowledge of automation engineering, RPA, AI/ML technologies, and secure software development practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and on-prem datacenters.
- Understanding of network, systems, storage, compute, and ITSM processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive projects from ideation to productization.
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated understanding of highly available and scalable systems.
