Job Description

As a Staff Software Engineer at LinkedIn, you will be a pivotal technical leader responsible for designing and developing applications that align with business objectives and technology goals. You will work on scaling distributed applications, making architectural decisions, and producing high-quality software. This role offers a hybrid work option, allowing flexibility between remote and office work based on team needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable distributed applications, making informed architectural trade-offs.
  • Write high-quality, unit-tested code and participate in code reviews for continuous integration.
  • Act as a role model and mentor for engineers, emphasizing craftsmanship and a bias for action.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build platforms, products, services, and tools that enhance engineering productivity.
  • Support and leverage a shared technical stack across teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithmic solutions.
  • 8+ years of programming experience in Java and/or C++.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degrees (MS or PhD) with 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience in designing and building large-scale infrastructure and web services.
  • Expertise in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Strong coding skills in Java, C++, and related technologies.
