As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the Security, Fraud, and Engineering (SFE) team, safeguarding member data and fostering a culture of trust. Your expertise will drive the design and development of scalable services and infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and security of our platform. This role offers a hybrid work option, giving you the flexibility to work from home or collaborate in a LinkedIn office.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect Scalable Solutions. Design and develop robust services and infrastructure, balancing synchronous and asynchronous design patterns to enhance scalability and reliability.
- Ensure Code Quality. Produce high-quality software with a focus on unit testing, code review, and continuous integration, setting a standard of excellence for the team.
- Technical Leadership. Serve as a mentor and coach, guiding engineers with a bias for action and a commitment to craftsmanship, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Collaborative Innovation. Identify and evangelize opportunities for improvement, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build scalable platforms, tools, and services that enhance engineering productivity.
- Shared Technical Stack. Work collaboratively with peers across teams to leverage and support a shared technical stack, driving efficiency and consistency in development efforts.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithmic solutions.
- Proficiency in Python, GoLang, and/or Java programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Extensive experience in designing and building large-scale infrastructure and web services, with strong object-oriented skills.
- Expertise in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Proficiency in object-oriented design, coding, testing patterns, and relevant programming languages.
- Experience with large-scale databases and streaming infrastructure services.
