Job Description

Visa is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join our Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) team. This role will oversee the delivery of product and technology initiatives, ensuring seamless planning, execution, and alignment with Visa’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in technical program management, cross-functional team leadership, and expertise in Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Program Oversight. Provide governance and oversight for all product and technology initiatives within VCS. Ensure that programs are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with Visa’s strategic goals.
  2. Quarterly Execution Planning (QEP). Partner with Product & Technology leads to drive effective QEP using Jira Align. Facilitate prioritization of Epics and features based on program objectives and workforce capacity.
  3. Financial Management. Manage program financials, including budget, forecasts, and expenses. Develop and produce documentation for funding approvals and ensure alignment with financial goals.
  4. Agile Methodology. Ensure adherence to Visa’s Agile Management Methodology (AM2) and Key Controls. Act as a coach to scrum teams, advancing Visa’s agility practices and ensuring effective adoption of Agile best practices.
  5. Cross-Functional Coordination. Collaborate with various teams including Product Development, Operations & Infrastructure, Cyber-Security, and Client Services. Ensure effective communication and alignment across global and regional stakeholders.
  6. Reporting & Metrics. Provide metrics-based reporting on program quality, flow, and value. Hold regular program-level ceremonies and develop a rigorous approach to tracking progress toward program OKRs.
  7. Risk Management. Identify and mitigate risks and dependencies. Foster a proactive mindset to accelerate value realization and manage cross-functional communications effectively.
  8. Compliance & Security. Ensure adherence to Visa’s Secure Software Development Lifecycle Management (SSDLC) and address security vulnerabilities promptly. Support internal and external audits and maintain audit compliance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience. Minimum of 12 years in technical program management or software development with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 10 years of experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD), or at least 3 years with a PhD.
  • Tools & Certifications. Experience with Agile lifecycle management tools (e.g., Jira, Jira Align) and project management tools (e.g., Clarity, Primavera). Scaled Agile Certification (SAFe for Teams, Leading SAFe, Implementing SAFe) is required.
  • Skills. Strong experience with productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Teams), project management techniques, and software development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Certifications. Program Management Professional (PgMP) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP).
  2. Additional Tools. Experience with JIRA Align, Tableau, Power BI.
  3. Industry Experience. Background in Fin-Tech with experience in Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  4. AI/ML. Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning to enhance product delivery effectiveness.
