As a Windows System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our Windows Server environments, including both physical and virtualized systems. You will play a key role in managing Active Directory, handling patch management, and ensuring disaster recovery readiness. We are looking for proactive professionals with excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Windows Server Administration. Install, configure, and manage Windows Server operating systems in both physical and virtualized environments (ESXi).
- Active Directory Management. Oversee the administration of Active Directory services, including user account management, group policies, DNS, DHCP, and security permissions.
- Patch Management. Develop and implement patch management strategies to keep the server infrastructure secure and up-to-date.
- Disaster Recovery (DR) Planning. Design and execute DR plans, ensuring recovery objectives are met. Regularly test recovery processes for system failures or disasters.
- Performance Optimization. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, implement resource allocation strategies, and ensure optimal system performance through tuning and capacity planning.
- Automation. Utilize PowerShell scripting to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Backup and Recovery. Work with tools like Veeam Backup & Replication to maintain robust backup and recovery solutions.
- Collaboration. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and system integration.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- 4-9 years of experience in Windows Server administration.
- Strong background in ESXi and Azure Cloud technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, patch management, and disaster recovery.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Knowledge of VMware vSphere and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with backup solutions like Veeam Backup & Replication.
Technical Expertise
- In-depth understanding of server infrastructure management, including physical and virtual environments.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting DNS, DHCP, and security permissions.
- Proven track record in designing, testing, and implementing disaster recovery plans.
Analytical & Problem-solving Skills
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis and address issues in a timely manner.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to resolving performance and security vulnerabilities.
Certifications
- Microsoft Certified. Azure Administrator Associate or VMware Certified Professional is preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
