As a WordPress Developer, your core responsibility will be to design, build, maintain, and optimize WordPress and Shopify-based e-commerce websites. You’ll work closely with our Marketing, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver sleek, responsive, and high-performance digital storefronts.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom WordPress themes from scratch.
- Build and maintain scalable WordPress sites with custom plugins, theme customizations, and 3rd-party integrations.
- Develop, manage, and customize Shopify themes, apps, and features using Liquid and relevant APIs.
- Ensure clean, efficient, and reusable code using PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and Liquid.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues related to performance, compatibility, and UX/UI across platforms.
- Perform cross-browser testing, responsiveness checks, and technical SEO optimization.
- Implement and manage API integrations, including payment gateways, shipping systems, analytics, and marketing tools.
- Optimize site loading speed, mobile usability, and conversion performance.
- Conduct regular backups, updates, security patches, and performance audits.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in e-commerce, CMS tools, SEO, and design best practices.
Must-Have Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in WordPress development.
- Deep knowledge of custom WordPress theme and plugin development.
- Hands-on experience in Shopify development, including Liquid templating language.
- Solid understanding of responsive design, UI/UX principles, and mobile-first development.
- Strong command of PHP, JavaScript, and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS).
- Proficiency in Git/GitHub or similar version control systems.
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and external services.
- Familiarity with technical SEO, schema markup, and site optimization techniques.
- Capable of cross-browser testing and resolving rendering issues in modern web browsers.
