Google has announced the rollout of Gemini for TV, bringing its advanced conversational AI to the Google TV platform. This marks a major upgrade from the traditional Google Assistant experience, enabling free-flowing, natural conversations with your television.
With Gemini on Google TV, users can do more than issue voice commands—they can engage in contextual conversations to discover content, learn new skills, or even get homework help. The feature is accessible by saying “Hey Google” or pressing the microphone button on the remote.

Movie night: Ask, “Find me something to watch with my wife. I like dramas, but she likes lighthearted comedies.”
Catch up: Get a quick recap, e.g., “What happened in the last season of Outlander?”
Vague searches: Can’t recall a title? Describe it: “What’s the new hospital drama everyone’s talking about?” Gemini will suggest options like The Pitt.
Users can also request reviews, ratings, and recommendations before deciding what to watch.

Gemini is launching first on the TCL QM9K series, with broader availability later this year across the Google TV Streamer, Walmart onn. 4K Pro, 2025 Hisense U7/U8/UX, and TCL QM7K/QM8K/X11K models.
