The new Audio feature, currently rolling out for desktop users and select Workspace plans, enables readers and authors to transform written content into speech, adjust voice styles, and tailor playback speeds for absorption and accessibility.

Access these features by navigating to Tools > Audio in Google Docs or inserting audio buttons as authors
The feature is rolling out from August 18, 2025, for Rapid Release domains and August 25, 2025, for Scheduled Release domains. It is currently available on desktop (English only) and supported for Google AI Pro, Ultra, and various Business, Enterprise, and Education plans.
