October 8, 2025 — Google today announced a series of updates to the Google Developer Program, aimed at making it more accessible, affordable, and community-driven for developers around the world. The enhancements include the expansion of monthly subscription options, localized pricing in India, and the program’s launch in China — alongside new opportunities for developers to connect at DevFest 2025.

These updates underscore Google’s ongoing commitment to empowering global developer communities with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to innovate with AI, Cloud, and open technologies.

Expanding Premium Access: Monthly Plans & Regional Pricing

To make the Google Developer Program Premium tier more flexible and inclusive, Google is expanding its monthly subscription option to developers in India and Italy, bringing the total number of supported countries to 13.

In India, Google is also introducing localized pricing to ensure that more developers can take advantage of advanced AI and productivity tools without financial barriers.

The Premium Plan includes access to:

  • Increased rate quotas for the Gemini CLI via Gemini Code Assist Standard

  • Google Cloud credits for experimenting with Gemini AI models

  • Up to 30 Firebase Studio workspaces

  • And other exclusive benefits for professional development

Developers can compare plans and regional pricing at the Google Developer Program Plans & Pricing page.

As part of Google’s ongoing investment in community engagement, DevFest 2025 is returning this season with hundreds of Google Developer Group (GDG)-hosted events across the globe.

Each DevFest event provides a platform for developers to learn, share, and collaborate with peers, Google Developer Experts, and Googlers themselves. Participants gain hands-on experience with Google’s latest tools and technologies across AI/ML, Cloud, Android, and Web.

“DevFest is more than just an event — it’s where technology meets community,” said Bala Muthukrishnan, Senior Product Manager for Google Developer Programs. “It’s about empowering developers to grow their skills, connect with others, and bring ideas to life.”

Developers are encouraged to find a DevFest near them and take part in workshops, talks, and networking sessions between October and December 2025.
