Google Labs has unveiled Mixboard, a new experimental tool designed to help users explore, expand, and refine ideas through AI-powered visual boards. Currently available in public beta in the U.S., Mixboard provides an open canvas where text, images, and generative AI come together to spark creativity.
With Mixboard, users can:
Start from text prompts or use pre-populated boards to jumpstart a project
Bring in images or generate visuals with AI
Edit with natural language, powered by Google’s Nano Banana image editing model, to adjust, combine, or refine visuals
Experiment with variations using one-click options like regenerate or more like this
Generate text based on context from any images on a board
The tool is designed to make it easier for anyone—whether brainstorming home décor, product concepts, event themes, or DIY projects—to visualize ideas in new and flexible ways.
