OpenAI and NVIDIA have signed a letter of intent for a landmark strategic partnership that will deploy at least 10 gigawatts of NVIDIA systems to power OpenAI’s next-generation AI models and infrastructure. The deal represents one of the largest investments in AI compute capacity to date, with NVIDIA committing up to $100 billion as each gigawatt comes online.
The first phase—1 gigawatt of NVIDIA systems running on the company’s upcoming Vera Rubin platform—is expected to be deployed in the second half of 2026.
A New Era of Compute Power
