LONDON — January 2026 — Sony has introduced LinkBuds Clip, a new addition to its LinkBuds lineup that uses a clip-style, open-ear design to deliver audio while keeping users aware of their surroundings.
The LinkBuds Clip are designed to attach comfortably to the ear without sealing the ear canal, allowing wearers to hear music, calls, and notifications while staying connected to ambient sound. Sony positions the product for everyday use, including commuting, work, and social settings where situational awareness matters.
Sony said the lightweight clip mechanism is engineered for stability and comfort, making the earbuds suitable for extended wear throughout the day. The open design also removes the pressure and isolation often associated with traditional in-ear earbuds.
The earbuds support clear call quality and balanced sound, with Sony focusing on tuning that works well at lower volumes typical of open-ear listening. Touch controls on the device allow users to manage playback and calls without reaching for their phone.
LinkBuds Clip are compatible with Sony’s companion app, enabling users to adjust sound settings and manage device controls. The earbuds are also designed to integrate smoothly with smartphones for everyday audio use.
With the launch of LinkBuds Clip, Sony continues to expand its open-ear audio category, targeting users who want lightweight, wearable audio that blends naturally into daily life rather than blocking it out.
