YouTube is introducing two AI-driven updates designed to help users explore content more deeply, learn more efficiently, and find what they need faster.

Smarter Search with AI-Powered Carousels

A new AI-enhanced search results carousel is now live, helping users discover more relevant videos and topics. When someone searches for something like “best beaches in Hawaii,” the AI can surface a curated carousel of video clips from creators, complete with summaries, tips, and suggestions for additional viewing—making it easier to plan the perfect trip or get inspired.

This feature is currently available to YouTube Premium members in the U.S. for select searches related to shopping, travel, and local activities.

Conversational AI Expands to More Users

YouTube is also expanding access to its conversational AI tool, which has already been a hit with Premium users. The tool offers on-the-fly information, video recommendations, and the ability to quiz yourself on academic topics. Now, some non-Premium users in the U.S. will also start seeing it as part of a broader test.
