Windows 8 Launch on Oct 01

 

In a a report published on Bloomberg, Microsoft will finish work on Windows 8 this summer and probably launch it on Oct 01. Well, Oct 01 is not the final date but this is my prediction after talking to a few MVPs local to Redmond.

 

Several manufacturers are already loading up their PCs, Tablets, and smartphones with Windows 8. Lenovo's IdeaPad Yoga – My dream laptop is already loaded with Windows 8. Nokia, Samsung, and other smart devices manufacturers are already working on Windows 8 tablets. Nobody knows if Microsoft is playing Russian roulette with Windows 8 but it started sounding exciting already.

 

Since the launch of Windows 8 consumer preview on Feb 29, more and more I learn and read about Windows 8, more and more I realize that Microsoft is betting big Metro-style apps. Windows Phone as a mobile operating system has not proved a lot. It is still a baby if you compare it with iOS and Android.
