To use your system repair disc you will need to tinker with your BIOS or UEFI so that the system reboots from the recovery disc. To do so you will need to set the boot orders in such a way that it starts from the CD/DVD first.

How to create the system repair disk in windows 8?

Step 1. Go to the search box and type "Windows 7 file recovery" and click on "Settings". Click on "Windows 7 File Recovery".

Step 2. In the Windows 7 File Recovery window click on "Create a system repair disk".

Step 3. Now insert a blank DVD disc in the DVD drive and click on "Create disk".
