How to Insert Online Images in Word 2013

It is a new feature of Microsoft Word 2013 that we can search for images online without leaving the document and then insert images we find into our document. It has the additional ability to apply effects on the inserted images like in Photoshop. This facility really makes it easier to embed online images that are not saved in our system then we can search it randomly online without leaving our document and if we want to make it effective then we can apply special effects on the images. This feature really makes our work easier.

Let's have a look at the following steps of how we can insert the online images and apply the special effects on it:

  1. Go to Microsoft Word 2013.

  2. Select the blank Document template from it:

  3. Now, select the Insert menu option:

  4. From it select the online pictures option and double-click on it:

  5. An Insert Pictures Dialog box will be opened, as in:

  6. In the given textbox of the Bing Image Search just enter the name of the image to be search for:

  7. Press enter; a list of images will be opened:

  8. From it select an image to insert into the document and click the insert button:

  9. An image will be inserted like this:

  10. Now if we want to apply the special effects on it just select the Artistic effects option while selecting the image.

  11. Choose any special effects to be applied:
